Worry About it Later

My favorite literary pseudo super hero, Seymour Glass, said that all we do our whole lives is go from one little piece of holy ground to the next. So, um, here are a few bits of very gorgeous, deeply trite bits of fake holy ground I am in love with

1. Junior Boys - So This is Goodbye - A lot of people absolutely detest planes. I don't know, I like them. Listening to this record is like looking out an airplane window at night and seeing nothing at all but vague glowy lite-brite spots of light : Strangely disorienting and sort of terrifying, but beautiful. The songs throw you into a mood then keep you there, lulling you into a weird kind of suspended awe built on countless layers of lush synth and airy vocals. What's especially perfect about this record though is that it has an impressive backbone of beats and pulses to keep it from melting or becoming too precious.

2. This is a trippy, remix-hit flecked dj set from Soviet Panda: http://www.sendspace.com/file/z5nbnq get the track list at http://www.sovietpanda.com/. There is a Soulwax remix of Duran Duran's Girls on Film halfway through it that is filthy gorgeous.

3. Kelis ft. Andre 3000 - Millionaire - This track is really pretty old - it was on the same CD as Kelis' Milkshake. (Who is not secretly in love with that song?!) This one I just heard though, and instantly loved. It's jittery, airy, and perfectly weird in the way most of Outkast's hyper hip hip hop is. Most defanately worth a download.

4. The Rushmore sountrack - I love this movie, so very fucking much. The soundtrack has a lot to do with it i think. It's chock full of songs from 60s cool kids like the Who, the Kinks, and Cat Stevens. I don't listen to a lot of classic rock, I guess, but something about these songs is absolutely perfect and reeks of fall.

5. The Futureheads - Worry About it Later (Switch Remix) - Honestly, most remixes flat out suck, but this thing is classic hedonistic, jumpy, shuffle-tastic, electronica at its most glitzy and caffinated. Seriously, turn this mother on and worry about it later.

6. http://facehunter.blogspot.com/ - this super hip French blogger takes lots of pictures of strangers then posts them on his website. The beyond cool street fashion he has an eye for is always random and usually truly, deeply, fucking awesome, or at least the opposite of boring.

7. Billboard Dad

Obviously. The once shiny faces of the Olsen-bots are more than made up for by the GENIUS work of Nigel, the slimy fox
